When can I check-in to my guestroom at Hotel Contessa?
Check in time is 4:00 pm local time.

Does Hotel Contessa charge for early check-in?
No, we do not charge for early check-in.  Check-in prior to 4:00 pm will be granted based on room availability. Please inquire at the Front Desk upon arrival. 

Can Hotel Contessa store our luggage if we arrive before a room is available to check-in?
Yes, the bell attendant can store your luggage in a safe place until your room is ready.
 
What forms of payment are accepted at Hotel Contessa?
Hotel Contessa accepts payment by cash, personal check (with proper ID), traveler’s checks, debit card and credit card (American Express, Visa, Master Card and Discover). Foreign currency is not accepted.

What is the minimum age requirement to check-in to a guest room?
Guests must be at least age 18 years old to register without a parent at the hotel.

What are the requirements at check-in at Hotel Contessa?
Hotel Contessa requires a valid photo ID and a method of payment upon check-in.  We recommend you do not use a Debit Card upon check-in for guarantee of payment, as your bank will place a hold on your funds for up to 10 days.  If paying by Cash, your room rate must be paid in full upon check-in, and a deposit of $75.00, per night of stay will be collected for incidentals.  Credit Cards may be used upon arrival to guarantee payment and avoid incidental charge deposits and cash pre-payments. 

What is the cancellation policy for guestrooms at Hotel Contessa?
Please cancel your reservation 48 hours prior to arrival date to avoid a charge of (1) one night’s room and tax. Contact the Hotel Contessa at 1-866-435-0900.

I need to change my reservation, but I booked on a different website, who do I contact?
Please contact the website that your reservation originated with to make changes to your itinerary. These changes will then be reflected in our system.

Is breakfast included in my rate?
Breakfast is not included with a standard room.  However, Hotel Contessa offers a variety of Room Packages and Group Rates that include breakfast.  Please reference your reservation confirmation or contact your meeting planner for more clarification.

DEPARTURE

When must I check-out of my guestroom at Hotel Contessa?
Check-out time is 11:00 am local time.

Does Hotel Contessa charge for late check-out?
Late check-out is based upon availability and must be requested at the Front Desk on the morning of departure.  Late check-out fees may apply, until 2:00 pm.  Rooms occupied after 2:00 pm will incur a full day room rate charge.

My date of departure has changed, does Hotel Contessa have an early departure fee?
Yes, a $75.00 fee will apply for departures prior to your confirmed departure date, with less than 24 hour notice.

Can Hotel Contessa store our luggage once we check-out?
Yes, the bell attendant can store your luggage in a safe place until you depart.

I recently stayed at Hotel Contessa, and have questions about my bill, who do I contact?
Please contact our Front Office Manager at (210) 298-8058.

A hold was placed on my Debit Card during my stay, who do I contact for the hold to be released?
Upon check out, Hotel Contessa will release the authorization for incidentals immediately; however, merchant services at your bank may take up to (10) days to release the hold based on your particular bank process. Please contact your bank to expedite the release process.

I realized I left something in my guestroom at Hotel Contessa, how can I find it?
Hotel Contessa keeps items in Lost & Found for 30 days.  Please contact the Lost & Found hotline at (210)-298-8069 and leave your name, telephone number, room number you resided in while at Hotel Contessa, check-out date and a detailed description of the lost item.

Does Hotel Contessa offer Internet Access?
Yes, Hotel Contessa offers both hardwire and wireless internet access.  Hardwire ports are located in all guestrooms and meeting rooms.  Wireless access is available in all guestrooms, public areas and meeting rooms. 

How much does Hotel Contessa charge for high speed internet access?
Basic internet service, wired and wireless, is provided free of charge (750kbps). Upgraded internet is available for $5.95 per day (1.5mbps).

Does Hotel Contessa have a Business Center? What are the hours? What kind of services are provided?
Yes, the Business Center is located on the 2nd Level and is open 24 hours; a room key is required for access. The Business Center is complimentary, and offers 2 computers with internet access and limited printing services. Copies, Scanning, Color Printing, Shipping and additional services are available at the Front Desk or Conference Concierge Desk.  Additional charges apply.

Does Hotel Contessa offer Dry Cleaning services?
Yes, Hotel Contessa offers Dry Cleaning and Laundry Services, Monday to Saturday. Bags and price lists are located inside the closet of each guest suite.
 
Does Hotel Contessa have a Gift Shop? What are the hours?
Yes, Hotel Contessa offers a Gift Shop (R Level), open daily, 7:00 am to 10:00 pm.

Does Hotel Contessa have a Fitness Center? What are the hours?
Yes, the Fitness Center is located on the “P Level” and is open 24 hours; a room key is required for access.
 
Does Hotel Contessa have a Pool? What are the hours? Is the pool outdoors? Is it heated?
Yes, Hotel Contessa offers a beautiful roof-top, heated Pool and Hot Tub.  The Pool is located on the “P Level” and is open daily, 6:00 am to 11:00 pm; a room key is required for access.
 
Does Hotel Contessa have a Spa? What are the hours? What kind of services are provided?
Yes, the Hotel Contessa Spa is located on the “P Level” and is open daily, 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.  The Spa offers a variety of services including manicure, pedicure, massage and facials. Does Hotel Contessa offer cribs and pack’n’plays? Is there a rental fee?
Yes, upon request we can accommodate your need. There is no charge for this service; however, please note these amenities are limited and are not guaranteed.

Does Hotel Contessa offer rollaway beds?
No, Hotel Contessa does not offer rollaway beds.  Each room at Hotel Contessa is a guest suite, furnished with a pull-out sofa bed located in the parlor room of the suite.

Does Hotel Contessa offer Refrigerators / Microwaves? Is there a rental fee?
Yes, upon request we can accommodate your needs; however, please note these amenities are limited and subject to availability. A one time fee, per room, per stay of $25.00 plus tax, per Refrigerator or Microwave applies.

What does Hotel Contessa offer for anniversaries, birthdays or special occasions?
Hotel Contessa is delighted to celebrate your special occasion with you!  We offer a variety of amenities and services.  Please contact the Concierge to arrange an amenity in advance or during your stay at Hotel Contessa (210) 229-9222.

Does Hotel Contessa provide babysitting services?
No, Hotel Contessa does not provide babysitting services. However, our Concierge can assist with contact information for local babysitting services for your stay in San Antonio.

Hotel Contessa provides many outdoor areas for smokers, including the Riverwalk Patio (R Level), the Riverview Terrace (2nd Floor) and the Rooftop Pool (P Level).

Do the guestrooms at Hotel Contessa have balconies?
No, Hotel Contessa guest suites do not have balconies.  However, we offer Riverview guest suites and a limited number of guest suites with slide-open windows.

Does Hotel Contessa provide anti-allergic pillows/blankets?
Yes, foam pillows and feather-free blankets are available upon request.

Does Hotel Contessa have guestrooms with connecting doors?
Yes, Hotel Contessa offers a limited number of City View suites with king and double connecting rooms. Please request connecting suites upon making your reservation.

Does Hotel Contessa have ADA guestrooms?
Yes, the hotel has (9) ADA compliant rooms. Some ADA guest suites include modified tubs, while others have roll-in showers.

How many people can stay in one guestroom at Hotel Contessa?
For your safety and comfort, Hotel Contessa recommends no more than (4) adults per guest suite.

Does Hotel Contessa offer a shuttle service to/ from the airport?
No, Hotel Contessa does not provide shuttle services. The San Antonio Airport ’s primary shuttle company is AirportExpress.  Shuttles depart the airport to downtown hotels every 15 minutes, between 7:00 am to 1:30 am.  AirportExpress tickets are accessible through the ticket kiosk located at the airport or reservations may be made in advance online at www.saairportshuttle.com.  One way fare: $18.00, Round trip: $32.00.

How much is the taxi from/to the airport? How far is it?
The airport is located approximately 15 minutes from downtown San Antonio, the average taxi fare from the airport to downtown is $30.00, one way.

Does Hotel Contessa offer Valet Parking?
Yes, Valet parking at Hotel Contessa is available for $30.00 plus tax, per 24 hours.  Day Rate / Visitor Valet parking rate is $15.00 plus tax, per day. Valet parking includes unlimited in and out privileges. 

What self-parking options are available near Hotel Contessa?
Self parking is readily available in downtown San Antonio.  Two garages are conveniently located across from Hotel Contessa, on Market Street (at the Navarro St. and Presa St. intersections).  The average price for self-parking is $14.00 per day; charges apply for each entry/exit. The Hotel Contessa is not affiliated with any self-parking garages or lots.

The Alamo is located 3 blocks north-east of Hotel Contessa, on Alamo St.  & Crocket St.

The Convention Center is located 2 blocks east of Hotel Contessa, on Market St. & Alamo St.
 
How far is Hotel Contessa from the Alamo Dome?
The Alamo Dome is located east of Hotel Contessa, on Market St., approximately a 15 minute walk. 

Where is the nearest Pharmacy in proximity to Hotel Contessa?
Walgreen's and CVS are both within walking distance from Hotel Contessa:

  • Walgreen's is (4) blocks away, north from the hotel on the corner of Navarro St. and Houston St. (Street Level).
  • CVS is (4) blocks away, north-east on the corner of Losoya St. and Crockett St. (River Level).

Are pets allowed? Are there restrictions for weight, height or types?
Yes, Hotel Contessa is pet friendly!  An additional fee of $50.00 plus tax, per pet, per day applies. Standard weight limit for pets is 40 pounds; however pets exceeding the weight limit may be accepted into the hotel at the General Manager’s discretion. Be sure to visit our in room guest directory to view our Pet Menu!

Does Hotel Contessa have pet sitting or dog walking services?
No, the hotel does not offer pet sitting/walking services. Our Concierge can make recommendations for local pet sitting/walking services upon your arrival.

How far do you have to walk to take your pet out?
Hemisphere Park, located at Nueva St. and Alamo St., is a 5 minute walk.

Does Hotel Contessa have a restaurant? What kind of food does the restaurant serve?
Yes, the beautiful Las Ramblas Restaurant (located on the R Level) offers indoor and outdoor patio dining and specializes in Spanish cuisine including Paella and an expansive Tapas menu.

What are the hours of the restaurant?

Breakfast         6:30 am to 10:30 am   Monday through Friday

                        6:30 am to 11:00 am   Saturday & Sunday

Lunch              11:30 am to 2:00 pm   Monday through Friday

                        12:00 pm to 2:00 pm   Saturday & Sunday

Dinner             5:30 pm to 10:00 pm   Sunday through Thursday

                        5:30 pm to 11:00 pm   Friday and Saturday

Can children eat for free at your restaurant?
Yes, children are eligible to eat free or receive a discount with the purchase of an adult entrée. (1) free/discounted children’s meal, per (1) full price adult menu entree.  Children ages 0-8 years old, eat free! Children ages 9-12 years old, 50% off.

I’m not a guest of your hotel. Can you validate my parking ticket if I eat at your restaurant?
Yes, Valet Parking is complimentary with the purchase of (1) entrée (dinner only) at Las Ramblas.

Do I need reservations for Las Ramblas? How can I make reservations for Las Ramblas? Is there a dress code?
No reservations required; however, reservations are recommended for Las Ramblas, and can be made online via Open Table or by phone (210) 298-8040. Las Ramblas does not have a dress code, resort casual attire is suggested.
 
Does Hotel Contessa have a bar?  Do they have Happy Hour specials?
Yes, the Cork Bar (located on the R Level) features Happy Hour daily, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and a Reverse Happy Hour at 10:00 pm to 11:00 pm; offering half price tapas, $3.00 domestic beer and $5.00 sangria, margaritas & wine.
 
Does Hotel Contessa have coffee bar?  What are their hours?
Yes, our coffee bar is called Café Contessa located at the Cork Bar (located on the R Level). Café Contessa is open every morning from 5:30 am to 11:00 am. Café Contessa has light pastries and the barista will be more than happy to provide your favorite style of coffee.

Does the Hotel Contessa offer Room Service? What are the hours?
Yes, In Room Dining is available from 6:30 am to 11:00 pm, daily.
